I am in my 20s and I really like shopping at places like Delia*s, Wet Seal, Forever 21, H&M and Charolette Rue.
Now, I don't normally wear these things to work - I have a nice little collection from the Gap, Express and JC Penney for those times.
I just think the clothes are really cute from the "younger" stores and I still fit into those sizes rather well. Sometimes I feel that I shouldn't shop there....as if those styles are "too young" for me.
For you ladies betwen 24-30, do you still shop at those types of stores? If not, at what age did you stop and what made you stop shopping there?
Thanks for all your replies!
~Peace love & light~

I'm 29 and I still shop at those stores. I see women older than me shopping there sometimes and the teenagers shooting dirty looks at both of us. If I can carry the look then why not flaunt what I have? I don't judge age. I'll admit its strange to see a lady in her 80's with bright pink lipstick in a tube top and mini skirt but as long as she has confidence so be it.
I also shop at JCPenney, Macy*s, Lord & Taylor, but also Charlotte Russe, Forever 21, H&M, their clothes are not as quality but oh so cute! I'm a fashion freak what can I say, no age limit!!
Its actually the snotty teens and their *ssholish attitudes that keep me out the most, but if the store is mostly empty or if I see something I can't simply walk passed in the window I'M THERE!

I don't shop there unless - I am looking for a really cute top for out of the office events- I still fit some of the clothes they sell but my new proportions don't always agree- I stopped shopping those types of stores around 28 and started shopping at the more "grown woman" stores- plus they say "Grown and Sexy" rather than "cute or pretty" . Also big difference is the sizes proportions- 1,3, 5, 7- junior sizes and proportions- 2,4,6,8- more womanly proportions ( more room in hips, thighs, bosom area than the former)

FYI- I'm a 31 y.o mom of 2. I tend to shop -Ann Taylor's loft, the Limited, Gap and Banana Republic for all around wear.

Good question. I think once you get past college age, you are beginning to press your luck, as long as you are doing it right you can keep with some of the basics from these stores all through your 20's.

Sometimes we need to remember just because we can fit in JR sizes doesnt mean we SHOULD.

This may sound rude, but once you have a child you definately need to stop dressing like one.

At my kids school, on back to school night, the PTA president got up dressed in an outfit she was at least 20 years too old for. It was kind of embarassing, it looked like she was just trying too hard to be cool, ( and it was so overdone)

How do you think it makes a 15 year old feel when someone 35 is wearing the same outfit as them?

NEVER NEVER shop in the same stores as your kids, you will just look like an idiot.

If the clothes fit, then wear em! I am 29 and still shop at rainbow, rue 21, 5-7-9 , and other "young adult" stores. If you fit in the clothes and the clothes fit your style go for it. My sister has been shopping at Ann Taylors Loft since she was 21... No one said that she was too young to shop there. Don't worry about what the world thinks about you. If you're happy and there is no one getting hurt from it then it's all good!

Regardless of your age, you should still be able to shop at stores like wet seal, forever 21, etc. They still have cute under clothes and accessories . Most the time you can still find cute & appropriate tops and jeans. Maybe just stuff you would like to wear on weekends. Bottom line is.. that if you like the store, then you should be able to still shop there regardless of your age.

I think it's fine as long as your not running around in minis and tube tops. Those store (especially forever 21 and H&M) offer a wide range of clothing for all ages and styles. They are the perfect places for finding cute, affordable trendy clothes. So I say it's fine to keep shopping there but keep your purchases in your age limit and not like your back in high school.

I'm not a lady and I do not shop at those stores, but I am in my mid to late 20's and I dress professionally on a daily basis. I belive the type of stores you refer to provide very nice "hip" style of clothes that is appropriate for an office environment. My (ex) wife shopped at those stores and she would receive compliments all the time in her office on her style and her clothes.

im only 18, but i think
if you have the body for it
and your not looking tacky
and grosse, and you can pull it off
why not, why not wear stuff that makes you look younger, if your hott, your hott!
flaunt it =], your not hurting anyone.
you dont have to dress like an old hag in your 20's! your 20 not 50!

i think as long as you look good
and wear appropriate clothes
you should wear whatever you like
what i mean by that is
dont go around at 50 with a belly shirt
O_O
