I started my first pack of birth control pills on the last day of my period, they expire in November so I've had them here a while. Anyway, I started taking them and my breasts started hurting after a few days. My boyfriend and I broke up so after about a week- week and a half of taking the pills i stopped b/c my breasts were still hurting and i no longer needed them. It's been 4 days since i quit taking them and my breasts still hurt and I haven't gotten my period. Also I'm kinda crampy. I took a pregnancy test 2 days after i quit the pills, but of course it was negative (it probably hasn't been long enough to show up if I am) I thought a woman only ovualtes about 14 days before her next period. If i did get pregnant that means it had to happen either while on my period or within the first few days of taking the pills. Also my libido has been way up, i mean i want sex everyday which is strange for me. Is it possible I'm pregnant?

When you stop taking the pill, especially if they were a higher dosage, then alot of times about a week after your not taking them you will have another period. The sudden lack of hormones the pill gave you will make you body think it's time for a period again. Your breasts hurting is a common side effect of the pill and so is feeling sick to your stomach. As for the high need for sex...another possible side effect... the pill can make you want to right before you have your period. Don't know why but it does. Just to be safe take another test 5 to 7 days after the first one you took.

Birth control is NOT 100% effective.

So you are either pregnant, or your body was getting used to being on and then coming off of the pill.

You shouldn't just STOP taking birth control pills just because someone broke up with you. You need to talk to your doctor before you do stop pills like that!

You could be , or your body could be adjusting from being on then off of the pill. You can wait another week then test again. Or your doctor can do a blood test which would show up much sooner then a hpt. Good luck to you
