There are a lot of Muslim women in my community and they wear very stylish hijabs... they look so pretty! If I chose to wear one just for fashion reasons, would I be making light of their culture? I don't want to offend anyone.

im muslim so i dont think i would get offended. but if u wear revealing clothes yes, people would get offended because hijabs purpose is to cover up. so if u do wear it just dont wear clothes that show alot of skin like capris.shorts. sleevless sometimes short sleeves depending on how short thay are. i think they would actually be happy that u are doing this.

You will just be inside and not talking to anyone .
Unless you run around saying ,
" I'm Not Muslim , I'm just like the fashion "
How would anyone else know ?
Everyone will take you as Muslim ,
And start treating you like when when wearing it .

@ yungun...i'm no longer ashamed of my faith! and that i dont care what human beings say approximately me. they understand i'm Muslim and thats what counts. i dont choose human beings to appreciate me as a Christian, and that they do understand me as a Muslim! i dont positioned on hijab, yet does that mean im a bad Muslim? i'm nonetheless no longer waiting to positioned on hijab. i'm no longer waiting to stand the questions, the stereotypes, etc. wearing hijab doesnt mean you adore Allah greater. you are able to love Allah and not positioned on the hijab. whats greater significant is which you pray salah, supply zakat, and speedy. altough hijab isn't a decision, i think you sould positioned on it once you're waiting. and in case you're compelled to positioned on it, you ought to ask forgiveness from Allah through fact there is not any forcing in Islam

Ask some of them first. They may not consider it offensive, since the hijab is supposed to encourage modesty.

I don't know. Why don't you try asking one of them? Quite honestly I don't think they'll care, they consider it a sin to do otherwise so from their point of view you'd probably just be that much closer to avoiding eternal suffering.

I think it would offend them because they wear them for a reason. So you can, but be willing to take loads of crap from them. Go for it

I would think they would take it as you are mocking them

Think of it this way.. when there in america they were our style clothes, so why can't we wear theres?
