Houston ranks 10th on the NBA's all-time list for career 3-point field goals made. Maybe that's all they want him to do. Stand there, catch a pass and shoot a trey when needed. Kinda like Robert Horry.

For the same reason the Boston Celtics would offer the 42 year old Reggie Miller a contract. They need outside shooting off the bench. For all that they could have just kept Eddie House around instead of letting him go to their division rivals. Houston is way beyond his days as a starter, but if his knees can hold up for 10-15 minutes a game for 50 games or so, it'll be a low risk signing

the nets want to add depth to their roster. They might be looking to trade Richard Jefferson so that is one possibility. Aside from that, they need a shooter off of their bench. Right now, they only have Nachbar and Antoine Wright coming off their bench!

Because he's still a better fit with VC and J Kidd than Jefferson. Houston will take what Kidd gives to him. Jefferson has had trouble fitting in since Vince got there!
