Does anyone else think Stephen King is past it?

I'm a fan of King's, but the books written in the past few years seem rather weak. Blaze was so-so, Lisey's Story was different, and I did not like Cell at all. I hope he finds his muse again, because right now he seems lost.

I liked Cell, except how it ended leaving you up in the air about several things.

I liked Lisey's Story once I got into it. The other world they go to is interesting, escpecially when presented as where catatonic patients "go" when they're not responsive.

Every Writer goes through what you're describing. I read Cell and thought it was getting back to his horror roots. I haven't read Lisey's Story but I have read good to great reviews about the book. All along his career he has had his bad moments like Dreamcatcher. That was bad. I guess it all comes down to opinion and how everyone has one and theyre all different.

I haven't liked too much of what he's written since "It". For me "Cell" was just okay, and "Lisey's Story" boring and unsatisfying. To me "It" was his last great book. I know he's still very popular but I haven't enjoyed anything he's written for quite some time now. I find myself going back and re-reading all of his earlier work. For instance, I just recently re-read "Salem's Lot" and it was so good! :-)

i think hes still got it !! cell to me was awesome :) blaze was brought back if i had read correctly , from when he was writing as richard bachman . im guilty of not having read liseys story so cant comment there but i yeah i think hes great still !!!

I think he's still doing good. Personally, I liked Cell. The way everyone now days has a cell phone it kind of made me stop and think how something weird could really happen using these silly things(yes I have one).
