Janet,
If you have an email address that you suspect is owned by your husband but you do not know for sure.. the only way you would be able to find out is via a subpoena to the email service provider.
You could certainly try creating an email account and emailing the suspect account to try and get him to reply with some of his personal information.. this is called "social engineering" in the hacking world.
