Well for North America Canada speaks French especially in the Province of Quebec. French is one of the official languages of Canada along with English. In the Caribbean the country of Haiti speaks French. Not a country I recommend visiting because of its political turmoil but, they speak French there almost exclusively. And for South America, French Guiana which is not a country because it belongs to France speaks French. French Guiana is a French Territory just north of Brazil. So, there are your three countries or at least territories that speak French. I hope this helps. Take care and good luck.

Good first answer, but add to that the isolation of the French "country" in North America both in distance and independence - Quebec was sucked into British Canada early - and the tiny size of the other French speaking countries and islands in the South American area. French is enough different that it isolates itself?
