no need to pontificate... just a clean list...
really reminds me of the issues surrounding integration... their was no REASON per se that black people couldn't eat in restaurants along side white people... yet their was tremendous opposition... so... i'm trying to get some real REASON that gay marriage is a THREAT to american society... RIGHT WING...THIS IS YOUR CHANCE.!!... and if you just post some meaningless hate crap you'll expose yourselves and help to further my point... so please feel free...

If you do not define something than it will have NO meaning!

For example if you don't define marriage as one man one woman WHAT will you change it to? Two individuals? What happens when there are Three individuals that have been living in a loving situation why not call that "marriage"? All three love each other? (or 4 or 5 or 6 or 7 individuals.....)

I am all for "civil unions" that give homosexual couples all the same rights as a married couple, they are equal and deserve equal rights (and equal pain of divorce)!

whilst gay marriage grew to become into made felony interior the 1st state, there have been distinctive lawsuits stated by ability of couples wanting to be legally married interior church homes which did no longer help the belief. As gay marriage looked as a controversy in different states, the lawsuits have been dropped so as to facilitate the passing of the regulation and so it would look the only argument against legalizing the enterprise for all couples grew to become into made by ability of unintelligent bigots who have been evil and unsympathetic. the actual difficulty is that when it truly is legalized in maximum states, those lawsuits will back be fastened, meaning "freedom" of religion, in any deepest group picking to nicely known marriage exterior the scope of a prevalent acceptance would be lost. human beings vying for the classic definition of marriage are actually not doing with the intention to be merciless, yet in an attempt to maintain their religious freedom.

I'm all for gay marriage. Homosexuals should be forced to suffer the same pain as the rest of us. LOL.

But seriously, I think "marriage" is an outdated concept. There should only be civil unions. Between a man and a woman. Between a man and a man. Between a man and two women. Or anything else anyone wants to do. Government has no right telling people how they should conduct their lives, especially when no-one else's rights are being infringed.

Only way gay marriage threatens straight marriage is if your partner leaves you to marry someone of the same sex.

I really don't understand the opposition.

It doesn't. Marriage should be a religous institution. If your religion allows gay marriage so be it. If it doesn't, so be it. Government should either recognize all marriages or better yet, recognize all domestic partnerships.

It doesn't.

(EDIT: the term marriage has been used by anthropologists and sociologists for years and years to describe all sorts of marriages between men and many women, women and many men or even marriages between heterosexual women! If people were at all educated, they'd know that marriage, while it appears in nearly every culture in the world, does not mean 'one man and one women' that is judeo-christian culture [and not really even then if you read the bible!] not reality!)

It's the word MARRIAGE.
It has and should always describe a union between a man and a woman.
If you want to join two women or two men call it anything but a marriage.

None that I can think of.
I love my wife, and the guy next door loves his partner.
We are friends with both of them.
Nice people.
