It was the memories that Snape wanted Harry to collect so that he could put them in the Pensieve and view them. I guess he wanted Harry to understand his own motives and those of Dumbledore.

If you are talking about book 7, they were the memories that Harry put into the pensieve and found out that he was supposed to die.
