I recently slept over at my friend's house for a couple days, it was the first time I had seen her in three years. When I was about to get in the car and leave, her mom bursted out, "I love you."

She has nudged her daughter towards me in the past, tried to get us to date/marry. It just seems odd because she's a rather reserved woman, she puts on an annoyed/scolding appearance but she's a caring person on the inside.. but she doesn't generally show her feelings.

She blurted it out quietly to me. I'm not sure, maybe she just cares about me, maybe she sees a potential husband for her daughter in me, maybe she actually has an interest in me her self (seriously doubt it) but whatever it is, I was just kinda creeped out. No, I didn't think she wanted to get in my pants or anything. Come on, give me some credit here. I'm not that low.

She most likely said it as a love for a child. You know, parents dont always like the friends we choose and maybe in her eyes you are a good person and someone she would like to see her child hanging out with. Chances are, its a sign of trust and true careing about you. I wouldent worry or be embarassed about it. Good luck.

were you atached to the family back when you and your friend were closer? Its possible your friends mom has missed you too. I only have 1 child and we have become very attached to my daughters friends over the years. I feel as if a lot of them were my children also. To this day (they are all in late 20s) there are still some that call me, write me, come visit. etc. I think the Mom just missed you and was happy to see you. Maybe she felt as I did, like a good parental figure in your life and wanted you to know she cared.

I'm guessing what she meant was she loves you like a son, because you make her son/daughter happy, and because she hadn't seen you for a long time she realised how much she cares about you. I doubt she would be professing any kind of romantic love in that way.
Although if she was, don't go out with her, whatever you do!

Quite possibly she meant it in a purely natural way because you are good friends with her daughter. I have friends who are my children's ages and we tell each other "I love you". It is a sign of caring for that person and has no sexual overtures.
Don't panic, unless she tries something, just take it as a sign of affection due to your friendship with a person she loves and only wants the best for.

It could just be a friendly thing to the mom, I knew an older lady in the neighbor told everybody that walks pass her house I love you. So I dont think her mom mean nothing bad about it.

How did she say it, was it just like her way of saying bye, take care, that sort of thing, or did you detect any emotion there? Probably was more of her mom just saying that out of habit, maybe she says that to her kids all the time and it just came out. Are you trying to say that her mom is interested in you? Or are you looking into it more like you think your friend's mom wants you to be with her daughter?

You had stayed only for a couple of days ( two days) and the mother lady shouted "I love You".
This only means she likes you and the loud saying is only an expression of affection.
If it had been anything else, no lady will express so quick and that too in public.

What ever you do do not waste this opportunity. It would seem like an older, experienced woman wants to give you a little loving. Next time you see her(arrange this soon), kiss her straight on the lips. When she responds back, enjoy the ride

I think she believes that her daughter has found a better friend in you. She feels okay to know that you are the one her daughter turns to for advise incase she's not there.
You must be a really good friend...
