I think they try & mate with the light. They pick up the heat from the lamp & they squeeze inside the fixture thru the however small opening to get to the light bulb. The Thing is once inside the bugs can't get out & soon die from exhaustion, the heat or crashing

The light-bulb seeks after the dead bugs, ...when no one is looking the bulb silently and tenderly reaches down to the already dead bugs, and picks them up and puts them in his light fixture. This is because deep down inside the bulb is a really neat freak and wants to help keep the house clean.
lol.
( my little brother like that story!!)

Some species of flying bugs are attracted to the light of the bulb, when they come in contact with the scorching heat of the bulb it instantly kills them.

haha...dead bugs don't get in lightbulbs....they are attracted to bright light, and they get too close and get burned...hence all the dead bugs by all light fixtures

most bugs are attracted to the light so they try to find a way in but it is always to hot for one to survive.

How would they go there if they're already dead? They get attracted to the light, squeeze themselves in and die there.

It is not widely known but many of today's light bulbs are in fact powered by fireflies.
