You have tried the obvious so maybe just maybe your registry needs a wash and a defrag. A SAFE good tool can be downloaded for trial (unrestricted used) from:

The best way to make ANY computer faster is this... Backup all of you files (and programs if you prefer), buy a new or use your OS recovery disc (if it came with one), and wipe out your computer (format it). Just put in the disc, reboot your computer and if it isn't set to automatically boot from disc, you may have to hold down F8 at the start of boot. Then select your optical CD/DVD drive and load it. It will ask you if you want to format the hard drive and install Windows (or whatever you're using). Go ahead and then it will do it's own thing. When it's all done, just reinstall your programs and load back your files. You may need to delete some also. Adding more RAM definetely will help, but like the other dude said, 1GB RAM is about the bare minimum these days. You will need much more than 368. A 1 GB stick will be well worth your money. Like I always say......... When in doubt, -Wipe it out!

Nope definetly RAM is your speed barrier in this case. Minimum nowadays is 1 GB of RAM. 500 MB or Ram will be a little better, but really step up, pay some cash to get a 1 GB stick, pop it in your machine and you will be so much happier. I just upgraded my laptop from 256 MB (WAY to little RAM) with a 1GB stick to 1GB and 256 MB for a total of 1.256 GB and I am flying!! so much better! now my laptop is useful for stuff, and I could actually install a firewall without having to wait almost 10 min every time it booted up.
So my recommendation is get that MEM upgrade, you will notice the difference!

Start>Run> type: msconfig> go to start up tab> uncheck programs that arent needed to start with windows, ie: adobe, media players, games, only uncheck what you know, others are needed to boot. restart, when running antivirus it's best to do in "safe mode".

Maybe your computer wants you to give it a break. It's tired and wants a nap. :)
