According to The Queen of Clean, bugs and tar will come off your car using a small amount of linseed oil. Apply to a rag then to car and rub.

WD40 also works great here in NE Georgia where we have pine trees and lots of sap.

Back when I was a teen, I used to just use Dawn to clean off the crap from my front bumper.

But, now, since I have a newer coat with a clear coat finish I only use Tar and Bug remover (sold in the automotive aisle.) It won't harm or dull your paint finish.

Don't know where you live at...but if you have a Dollar General Store in your area, get a cleaner called "Awesome". Its in a clear bottle with red lettering. Its good for everything.....and I mean everything including removing bugs. It will not harm your paint. Plus it only cost a $1 per bottle.
Good Luck.....

Call your local body shop or dealer. They should be able to recommend something. You can also try the local auto parts store to see what they recommend.
