Yes, but also keep in mind that it's written and interpreted from many different points of view.
The history of the relations between Europeans and Native American groups, for example, is seen at one extreme as a glorious, stirring tale of the forces of "civilization" triumphing over the "savages." The other end of the spectrum views it terms of a series of lies, land grabbing, and genocide.
So, history itself is true, and to get the full picture you need to consult different sources that present the facts from different perspectives. In general, the truth is seldom found at either end, but somewhere in between, and not always in the middle, either.

History is indeed true.
The real question is: "what historical accounts are true."
History can change, for example secret documents from world war 2 that came to light 50 years after the war, can change the details of history, by providing more information.

I guess we can never really know for sure unless we were there ourselves. Think in 50 years our great grandchildren will ask, did 9/11 happen the way it was written. They will never know because they weren't there to experience it. Its a matter of opinion because history can be recorded listing the facts, or recorded listing people's perception of the situation.

Yes. History is always true. It's our past. You can't change the past. Also, there is always proof of history. For example, proof that there was an Aztec empire was the Aztec empire itself dugup!!
