I had an idea of my own, but I can't exactly test it.

The ancient " turn lead into gold " alchemy myth, IMO, might be possible to accomplish through chemistry.

In short: You get the molecular composition of gold, and compare it to that of lead, and find a chemical compound that can cause a reaction when combined with lead that results in the molecular composition of gold, thus transmuting lead into gold.
