Why are bass players always such assholes?

iv met quite a few over the last year i know that's not a huge amount of time, but their been a lot of bands I'm gig obsessed, every single band iv met out of all the other members, the bass players are always jerky, moody, , rude etc

I know a really nice bass player that's a cool dude as well.
Could be because he actually went to college for it.
