is 'truth' based soley on what is 'true'? or is it based on the p.o.v. of the person seeking the 'truth'? what about the 'truth' from one person against the 'truth' of another? is there even an absolute 'truth'? -just a friendly philo question-

Two people watch a lake. A fish jumps up and back into the water. Only one person sees it. The truth is that the fish did jump out of the lake, the rest is perception. Even if neither saw the fish, it would still be true.

**Facts were once theory and a theory is neither true or false....facts are only a person's conception of what is truth.

There are differing claims on such questions as what constitutes truth; how to define and identify truth; the roles that revealed and acquired knowledge play; and whether truth is subjective, relative, objective, or absolute.

What is the better question to ask?
1. Is it true there is extraterrestrial life
2. What does it mean to say that it is true that there is extraterrestrial life?

You cannot know the truth unless you have observed it yourself. If you have not, then truth is simply the perception of others. There is no absolute way to discern it. One can claim they own a dog, but you won't know for sure until you see it yourself...despite how trustworthy said person may seem.

Truth is usually just redundancy, or an expression of emphasis.

Consider this. When I say "It is true that snow is white," am I really adding anything to what I would have meant if I had just said, "snow is white"?

And if so: what exactly am I adding? Only (I submit) an emphasis. "Pay attention! This is important! snow is white!"

truth is what is there... and the most basic of "what is there" is the "I AM." or in religious terms... the "Great I AM"

This whole thing about finding truth is explained in the on line resource "Gospel Enigma."
