It voices down to two things. Do you need the money, and can you cope with the part-time job and school? If your answers to both questions are yes, then I guess it is a definite yes. If there is only one yes, you have to touch your heart and ask if you will ever regret. If no, do it. Else, don't try. If both answers are no, then it is definite no. Simple.
Good luck.

It sounds like it's too demanding of a job. The nights and weekends can be hard for some student but being on call is just undoable for a student. You have classes you must go to and some of them will have outside events you must attend.
You need to find a job that's willing to work around your schedule, I wouldn't take this one. If you haven't even attended your university yet, I would wait a week or two to better gauge if you think you can handle a job on the side.

Can you explain to the company that you are about to start university and you need some time to know if you will be able to handle that sort of work schedule? It sounds like the work may be too much for someone just starting university.

I recommend not having a job your frist semester of college. It may become too overwhelming and begin to affect your schooling. If after the first semester you feel confident in beginning a part time job, then you should. But I think for the first few months you should certainly focus on school alone.

As long as you put school first, go for it. You realize that you have to put school first, job second, fun last, right?
