Did they do this because it rhymns? The ad says everyone knows the surge isn't working, so since the general says it is, he must be lying, betraying us. I've seen lots of news reports indicating the surge has worked.

Does moveon.org just want us to lose?

Here's the text of the ad:

Sahara, I guess you didn't read the ad. It would have taken less time than it took you to write your mindless answer.

My words aren't inflammatory, those of moveon.org are. I believe they want us to lose, and are doing everything they can to insure that we lose.

Yes, I've seen it. The cost for a full page ad in the NY
Times is $167, 157. The NY Times charged only $65,000. It looks like the editorial side is beginning to run the business side of the newspaper. Unbiased reporting in the NY Times? In a pig's eye!

I'm in a union and moveon.org sends me emails every day asking for a donation for this, a donation for that. Today they sent me an email asking me to work for them. Part time work. I imagine I would have to spend money for that also. They are hell bent on "the global warming crisis too. I have a few emails from them about the "troop surge". Moveon's spin is:
1. Violence has gone up in iraq
2. The surge has not created political stability
3. We've poured weapons into iraqs civil war
4. Ethnic cleansing is happening in baghdad

I think petraeus is doing what he can with that madness. Hes the best man for the position.

If we pull out of iraq then iran will control that gulf and the oil flowing out of it. People don't really look at this aspect but without oil our economy would come to a screeching halt.

Yes, exactly, that's it, MoveOn.org wishes for *us* to lose. When you say *us* I will assume YOU have sacrificed exactly what to the war effort???? Nevermind.

It's very clear by your obvious political naivete you haven't, but if you had bothered to actually watch General David Petraeus and Ambassador Crocker's joint testimony before Congress over a two day period earlier this week you might have learned from those hearings that *the surge* has not worked. This my dear is a documented fact.

I know all things concerning only the most important and defining issue of our time go quickly down the memory hole, but again, if you had watched or listened to Bush in January when he announced *the surge* or in the months since you might understand that the *the surge* hasn't worked because the Iraqi Government for which this strategy was intended to aid has not gotten their act together. In fact they're worse off.

Generals spin the truth my dear. Seriously, need I remind you of General Colin Powell's prewar testimony before the United Nations? It looked every bit convincing and authoritative and authentic - of course it did. That was exactly the point. Yet, those that bothered to educate themselves and understand the difference between embellished half-truths and happy face spin knew better.

If we didn't know better then we sure as hell know better NOW!

If you trust and depending upon the same news media that failed to inquire and ask the necessary questions before we invaded Iraq for your understanding of what is happening now, then I can only say shame on YOU!

Perhaps one day when it's your sweet little *** on the line, thousands of miles from friends, family and loved ones stuck day after day for months and months on end without a winning strategy or any end in sight, maybe then you'll begin to *really* pay attention to what's going on.

Until then, yeah, sure, if it makes you feel better blame MoveOn.org

Are you crazy? They are trying to attract attention to an important problem. We are losing the war if we haven't already lost it. The Iraqi government is not working with us and who are we to try to tell them what they should do. Try to put yourself in that situation. How would you feel if some outsider was trying to tell you what to do? The surge has done nothing for the U.S. politically. Who in their right mind would want the U.S. to lose?? That is crazy talk. It has no basis in fact. It's very patriotic to question and criticize the government because it shows that someone is thinking. It's the sheep that do us the most damage because they just believe what ever some high official tells them. They apparently cannot look and see for themselves based on all available information. It's what our military women and men have fought for, our ability to speak freely towards our government. Iranians cannot freely discuss how they feel about their leaders. Think about that. How would you like to go to prison just for saying what you think?? Many people in the world have to consider that. We are very fortunate that we don't though it seems like some people like yourself want to do just that with these inflammatory words.

on account that a wide-unfold interior the army is meant to be a non-partisan place, he ought to be allowed to make suggestions; this is as much as the commander in chief if he desires to pay attention or no longer. i'd evaluate it cheesy of any baby-kisser to badmouth the millitary; do you have a source?

Yes I did see it and I thought it was disgraceful. It reminded me of how our Veterans were treated when they came home from Viet Nam. Certain people were condemning him before he ever said a word including a bunch of Politicians.
