They cheated that's why. Sure this time they got caught but what about all the other times they got away with it? Everybody knows it wasn't a 1 time thing. They got caught last year too.
NFL security confiscated a video camera and tape from Patriots video assistant Matt Estrella on Sunday when he was working on the Jets' sideline during New England's 38-14 victory.
That's life. They knew if they got caught they would get into trouble. That's a risk they took when they decided to do it.
Greggy - You want to penalize every team because your team got caught? Everybody speeds but you can't just send out a ticket to everybody after 1 person gets pulled over for it. When they get caught they will get punished too.

Well, considering this isn't the first time these allegations have come up and it is against the rules, I'd say that's why people are so "uptight" about it. It was stopped early enough in this instance to not have any real effect on this game, which is why most people think the idea of taking away the W is absurd and would never happen. But how many other games have they gotten away with it? The point is if you can't play by the rules, don't play.
And Mangini formerly working for Belichick doesn't mean he's a cheater, it puts a question mark there certainly, but it doesn't prove anything. If you went by that logic you'd have to call Weis into question to and probably Parcells because Belichick must have learned it somewhere. That kind of thinking would just waste time and effort. Leave the past in the past, deal with now, takes steps to ensure teams understand there will be severe conquences for these type of actions in the future.

We get down on athletes for using performance enhancing drugs because they give the player a competitive advantage. Well, this gives the Pats a competitive advantage.
Now, what is the difference between the two? Nothing. Cheating is cheating, if the rules say you can't do it.
The rules say you can not use drugs to help you and the rules say you can not use electronic equipment to get an advantage, so both are equal forms of cheating.
I don't care that steroids can kill, or that they are illegal, etc. That doesn't matter. What matters is what the NFL rule book says. That's why it's a big deal. The "classy" Patriots were caught violating league rules and should be punished accordingly.
Yes, I know that other teams do it, but using that mentality you should not suspended Rodney Harrison for HGH because you know other players use it. You punish those that are caught in hopes that others will see the punishment and stop doing it.
Is Mangini a hypocrite? Yes, IF he was part of these types of actions while coaching with New England. You can't do it to help you and then get this upset when it's used against you.

Why so uptight? It's just human nature. To most fans and the media Belichick comes off as an arrogant a**hole. As Dizzy Dean use to say, 'It ain't bragging if you can back it up.' However, for someone like Belichick if you get caught with the goods on you then people come out of the woodwork to nail your a** to the wall. You live by the sword and you die by it.
Now Belichick is making matters worse by claiming his actions were based on his interpretation of the rules. If your read the rule there is no room for interpretation. What a clown and that's why people are uptight. What goes around comes around.
As far as snitches I have no use for them. I don't know how other people grew up but if you were the snitch someone was waiting for you after school to give you an attitude adjustment. And God help you if you snitched again.

surely, I even have the comparable concern... i'm getting under pressure by ability of particular issues - it truly is issues that maximum human beings would locate demanding (like an ailment, as an occasion), regardless of the undeniable fact that it is likewise some truly minor stuff. My husband is greater laid-back and person-friendly-going than I, and that's what makes us a proper couple: he's a chilled effect in my existence. He pokes exciting at me for being so carriers to be concerned (each and every so often he will inquire from me interior the morning - so, what have you ever been ruminating approximately final nighttime?), yet frequently we seem to have chanced on a stability. i attempt to nicely known circumstances that galvanize tension, and the two sidestep them or pay close interest to my reactions - and he knows whilst to "have a tendency" to my concerns and whilst to ignore approximately them and enable issues run its direction. whilst all else fails, Xanax does wonders.

Being uptight is no where near as the stupid logic some lame Pat's fans are using to defend it. No "big deal" huh. If New York was doing it against the Pats you no class pieces of crap would be going crazy. Wake up and face the music.
People who say everyone cheats forgets, the Pats were caught last year. It wasn't a big deal and they were warned by the NFL. They did it again, so YES is it a big deal because they defied the NFL.

I have read just about everyone's opinion on this topic in every question regarding this issue here on Yahoo! Answers. I am happy to see that the majority actually thinks this isn't a big deal... because it isn't. Yes... cheating is cheating... I believe that videotaping needs to stop, but to punish the Patriots would be VERY unfair. You would have to punish EVERY team in the NFL then, because it happens all the time. This has become such common practice in the NFL that it's practically a safety net for most NFL coaches. I do respect what the commissioner is trying to do here though... so since he has once again been given the oppurtunity to express himself on a national stage... issue a public address saying that this is now a two strike system... first your issued a warning and a fine for taping.... second time your suspended without pay and lose draft picks. And Belicheck would be the only one in the NFL to be down to one strike and that alone would make a point seeing that it is Belicheck, the standard bearer for all NFL coaches... people will pay attention. Fans really need to get real when it comes to things... your team has done it too. How about he just punishes every team that this infraction has been reported on... there would be no season... haha. The only reason this has become such a big deal is because of the NFL being so closely scrutinized this year because of the whole Pacman Jones saga and Michael Vick case... the media knows the NFL is good for business, so they jump on anything they can now. The way of the world I guess. And to the guy below me... there are about 3 billion drivers in the world all of which speed and 32 head football coaches most of which tape... lot easier to go and fine and warn 32 than it is 3 billion... different playing field my friend. Get over yourself... your scared of the Pats and that's why you want their season ruined.

Sorry, but with technology today, they had every chance to use that info in the same game. They could have had that film cued up and being processed minutes after it was taken.
I'm sure there are cameras out there that can directly broadcast to a wireless network somewhere in the stadium. For all we know, they could have been using the info immediately.

No, but just because they couldn't use it during that game doesn't mean that they couldn't use it during the 12/16 game or next season (since they are RIVALS)!!! I'm not from New York and am not a Jets fan, but play the game ethically. You're just pissed that the Pats finally got caught. Serves them right.

Suppose that New England plays everyone in their division twice per year or that they feel that they may have to face that team later in the playoffs. I really doubt that they would change their signals within the year. I would venture to say that this wasn't an isolated case and that they probably have done other teams this way in the past.
