I pulled the muscles in me thighs on tuesday night at volleyball. They still feel strained, and i have another tryout tonight. Also the back of the thighs under my butt hurt too. Any ways to make it go away for a bit? Tylenol? Advil?

If you PULLED the muscles (sharp pains that run along the length of the muscle), nothing is going to make this better other than rest. Aspirin, acetaminophen (Tylenol) and ibuprofen (Nuprin) should help with the pain.

If you OVERWORKED the muscles (dull achy pains all through the muscle), LIGHT exercise will help flush the lactic acid out of them that is causing your discomfort. The same over-the-counter painkillers that I mentioned above would also help.

Take these two homeopathic remedies Arnica and Rhus tox nothing works better on sprains strains and pulled muscles, use in 30 or 200 potency both together three times a day in 30 potency or once a day in 200. Total miracle cures.

ice, but not to close to the tryout (you need to be warm for exercising)

you can use tylenol and advil together, they do not interact. the advil would be better for the inflammation, but the tylenol would also help with the pain.

Advil or Ibuprofen (same thing) because it is an anti-inflammatory. You should probably take it easy or rest.
Have you checked with your doctor?
