Well first, you can't just say, who would win a war between the two.
You have to give more details.
What are they at war for ?
Did China try and invade America ?
Did America try and invade China ?
Is the war over some third nation ?
But, to put it bluntly.
Without using nuclear weapons, China does not have the ability to wage war against America.
China has no navy to speak of, they have no long range bombers. So the millions of Chinese soldiers do them little good, unless someone trys to invade China.
The US does have the ability to attack targets inside China from the US. While the US doesn't have the ability to invade China ( not without a full mobilization and ship building program ) like during WW ll.
To have a war, you have to be able to attack your opponent.
In this case, only one side has that ability.
So how could there be a war?

A hypothetical shooting war would almost certainly go nuclear, so both countries would be pretty much obliterated and the whole world would loose.
In the existing economic wa... er.. competition, China shows every indication of eventually winning. However, unlike war, economics is not a zero sum game. That means there are not a limited number of "points" and whoever gets more wins. In economics, the number of "points" goes up when economies are successful, and even the looser can end up with WAY more "points" than there were in the whole game at the start.

1,5 Billion people and a 12 Million man army to 300 Million and a 2 Million army, with only 400,000 real troops, the rest are generals. Two nations with each enough nukes, who can destroy the entire planet in 10 minutes.
The next WW is won by missiles (nuke or conventional), not by airplanes, aircraft carriers, tanks, Humvee, or Submarines.
The one, who has the most standing after the first strike will win and my bet is on China any day. If nukes are used, it will be the end of mankind, because of the fallout. Only cockroaches will survive and the Chinese ones are much bigger.
Soory to be realistic and not a blind patriot.

probable the US. all of us is morons and act like the US would attempt to invade mainland China and then occupy it like Iraq/Afghanistan. Sorry regardless of the undeniable fact that it would not artwork that way. for the period of the Pacific conflict neither Japan or the US actual invaded the different factors mainland. Any conflict between the US would China would probable contain various Air and Naval try against. the US invading China would be hopeless and China invading the US would be the two hopeless. the US would desire to no longer carry down a rustic of a million.3 billion and that i doubt that China would desire to hold down a o.k. armed united states of america of three hundred+ million.

America, hands down. For two reasons. A) China has no blue water navy, it would be unable to prevent the deployment of the US fleet in and around its waters. B) China's army, although more disciplined than that of the US, is unpracticed in combat....When was the last time China was at war with somebody?.(the Cold War doesn't count). As you know the US has swathes of experience in war, it has been involved in combat accross the entire planet for over 50 years now!
America is my choice.
But saying all this, if the war went nuclear, no one would be left to win!:-(

China would win in a war because they have something more powerful than nukes. They hold the fate of the U.S. economy in their hands, or I should say their vaults. As a holder of the largest reserves of american dollars in the world, they could easily just sell off these reserves thereby making the dollar worthless. The goverment of China has recently called this tactic their "Nuclear Option" because it is a threat that can truly devastate our economy by making the dollar crash. If we ever went to war with China, we should expect an immediate blow to our economy that even if we do win the physical battle, they will have still won the longer and more far-reaching economic battle.

Neither. There's so much trade between the US and China that if it stopped, the world would be thrown into an economic depression for years to come. Both countries would suffer massive unemployment and runaway inflation due to product shortages.
There will be no war. The US and China are unwilling allies. Without us they can't operate their computers while we couldn't clothe our soldiers without them.

China boasts its million strong army but with low quality military hardwares, given the fact that China manufactures mostly imitated products with very cheap labor, while America remains a military superpower who can sustain a long naval and air warfare. But, the situation is different If America can sustain wars in different fronts, I mean Middle east and asia pacific altogether, and China is concentrating on just one.
