i am planning to buy a wireless router to use it at home , i have a 62 Kb/s internet speed ( http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=5250774&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat7000050002&id=1051384663529 this is the one i'm planning to buy i was just wondering if the connexion , which will be recieved by my laptop's Wi-Fi will slow down it's speed and what's the average range of this wireless router?????

It's about average the only thing that really changes between routers is the distance it transmits the signal not he speed.

Being WIFI is slower than being cabled thats for sure as for the distance check out Linksys site it should tell you there

Am using that router and have had no problem with it. We have had some problem with Roadrunner and have had to have them replace their modem and once in awhile have to un-plug it (and the router), plug them back in and then things are fine again. also am using a Belkin Rx on this computer and my daughter is using a lap top with the Rx built in. She can use it anywhere in the house, out on the porch, etc. The approximate range should be about 300 ft. from the router.

that should be fine

its not really the speed of the router but how far you are away

if your going to be far away when using your laptop
get a better one such as the linksys g with speed boster or the linksys n

but linksys is the best router you can get

they are like the microsoft of routers
