I am of the old school and I was taught to type the correct way, using both hands and all the fingers on the keyboard, and never looking at them. I type over 120 wpm and its good as I am a yakky person. God blessed me.
THo if I am typing and talking about God, I get to going sooo fast that I make typos a lot, and transpose letters.
So forgive me. I can spell and I can type, but when something of God hits me, I am like rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I mean well, do forgive me those of you that always feel the need to correct me as you think I cant spell. I got a's in spelling and rarely read a book or studied. Now, math, thats another story. Glad you didnt ask about that. hahahahaha
If you want to learn to type right, you must never look at the letters and you must use two hands and all of the fingers, and type over and over till you have them all memorized.
With that I will give a two handed GOOD BYE < SEE YA LATER....

Yes, I can type. Learned to type in high school using a manual typewriter with the keys painted over. I worked as a legal secretary for over 40 years. I was timed at 126 words per minute after I became accustomed/mastered the electric typewriter. There are people that can type faster than that. I use all eight fingers and right thumb and don't have to look at the keyboard.

Yes, I type the way you're supposed to. My job requires that I do and I've been in this line of work since high school. The only thing I have a problem with is the numbers at the top of the keyboard. I am spoiled by the 10 key pad to the right.

I learned typing with 10 fingers on those antique machines, never was fast...
But nowadays I use 6-7 and my speed has improved a lot, Don't need to see the keyboard to type a correct sentence.

I took 3 years of typing in high school. I was a travel agent for 22 years and typed everyday. Once did a ticket for my old typing teacher. She was so pleased to actually see someone using what she taught them. So yes I do actually type and I type about 90 wpm. I type the correct way as taught, and w/o looking.

I can't type the "traditional way" very fast. But I can type My way pretty quickly - combination of looking at the board and knowing where some keys are without looking. My friend types faster than I do, faster than most people in my office, and he only uses his index fingers.

I did learn to type with the "proper" fingering. I'm at about 100 wpm after mistakes. People have literally walked by my office, walked back, and asked me if I was actually typing that fast. :)

I can do it the "right" way, not the finger typist way. I logged about 57 WPM back in that class i took on typing, so I'd say I'm pretty good at it.

Hi:
Yes, I can type. Learned in high school years ago at Western Technical Commercial School in Toronto. Took a 4-year business and commercial course and became a secretary. Over the years, you can get faster than the 50 words per minute you get your certificate for. Keep practising. Good luck!
