I think they should have to forfeit the game and Belichek should get a 4 game suspension. Although all of the teams received a letter from the NFL warning them not to cheat in this way, it was emphasized to Belichek and the Patriots. The Packers and the Dolphins complained about this last year. The Patriots just thought that a dynasty couldn't get caught. This is a severe offense and the punishment should fit the crime.

There should not be a forfeit at all. First of all, the pats didn't cheat. The video camera was seized in the first quarter and never made it to the pats coaches. Perhaps if after half time when they may have been able to review the tape first then it would be unclear if the tape affected the score in some way AKA cheating. I would agree that they could have been trying to cheat.
Secondly lets compare this to a pass interference call. When a cornerback breaks up a catch by interfering, they don't give the team a touchdown when it very well could have been one. The rules were clearly broken just like the pats broke the rules but you can't over do it.
This seems to be blown up way too much. If the pats are such big cheaters then why hasn't this come to light a long time ago. With all of the coaches who have gone to other teams, why hasn't one of them caught this going on and made it public? Why not at the first JETS-PATS game?

No they should'nt forfiet the game. The tape was confiscated early in 1st quarter. I may not know that all of the teams are doing this but there has to be a few that do . Who better to make a scape goat of this then Belichick. A man that does not belong to a Union or an Association ,that has no backing power ,if they had caught a member of Union or Association this would be fought tooth and nail . Belichick's Defense is ( the interprtation of the Rule ) if there is aloop hole in the Rule then a Union Backed Member would get great representation on how to show others how the rule has this loop hole . Where Belichick has no Backing he would be the perfect canidate to nip this scandel in the bud .

There is no way they forfeit that game, can you imagine the mess in Vegas trying to change the outcome of the bets?
It's funny how these Pats fans say "all teams do it". Where is your proof? You are just assuming. The Pats are the only team ever caught doing it (several times as a matter of fact).

No, there is no way to know with a 100% certainly what the outcome of the game would have been without the cheating alligations. Most likely the Pats would have won. Taking the W away punishes the players who most like did not have anything to do with this.
The Patriots should be punished, but taking away the win is absurd and opens the door to a whole host of other problems.

Every team in the league does this. You'll notice that the guy who turned the Pats in was Eric Mangini, a former assistant for the Patriots. Do you really think he never did it himself when he was there, or isn't doing it now?
Still, the Patriots got caught, and deserve to be punished within the league rules.

Maybe a better question would be, should the Jets refund the fans money for not putting a decent team on the field? Stealing signs is and has always been done and will continue to be done.

They all do it. That why coaches are always hiding their mouth when calling offensive plays. The Pats just got caught. Its like being singled out for screwing off at work. You can't say anything but you know damn well everyone does it.

It is the same as with the Republicans and the Democrats. They both do illegal stuff but the Republicans always get caught! Don't for one minute think that other teams are not doing similar things but just have not gotten caught. I say let's get over it and move on. The Jets aren't that good anyway.
