I finally read the book The Regulators. So the majority of the book takes place in the mid-90's. Seth and his aunt Audrey are two of the main characters. My question deals with the very end of the book. When the lady writes a letter to her friend from the hotel saying that there is a ghost of a woman and a child is there any relation to Seth and Audrey? I am an avid reader, but I just could not get into this book. I think it is in King's 3 worst books ever. With the other two being From A Buick 8 and Cell.

At times when a well known writer reaches his peak and novelty in novel writing, don't expect that the book shall always please all readers especially on its ending.

At times the ending can be disappointing inorder to raise an interactive "question mark" on the reader's head to make him wonder still after the word, "The End."

For me the best ones are Sydney Sheldon. He is an unmatched master suspense story teller.

From the Boston Globe:

"THE DECISION to give the National Book Foundation's annual award for 'distinguished contribution' to Stephen King is extraordinary, another low in the shocking process of dumbing down our cultural life. I've described King in the past as a writer of penny dreadfuls, but perhaps even that is too kind. He shares nothing with Edgar Allan Poe. What he is is an immensely inadequate writer on a sentence-by-sentence, paragraph-by-paragraph, book-by-book basis..."
