Hmmmm. One yard would equate to 36 inches x 54 inches.

What exactly confuses you? How much you'll need to paper a room? Is the paper you're considering have any "register" issues/ (Pattern repeat)?

54 inch wide wall paper will certainly be difficult to "work" alone.

For every 3 foot of length it is 1.5 yards
