Democrats are close minded and only want to push their own agenda. plus they feel the surge isn't working. bottom line, the Democrats will never be happy unless we have a complete withdrawal. Democrats are just retarded. the words of Michael Savage might be true. Liberalsim may be a mental illness.

This question is sarcasm right?
Please tell me you mock.
Because believe it or not there are people that feel like that and we shouldn't make fun of them.
It's an amazement that when one political party or the other is allowed to follow their plans without much obstruction from the other political party and then they fail the controlling party still finds a way to blame the other side for their failure.
Don't be fooled by partisan struggle concerning this war because at the fundamental level there's never been any real partisan struggle, it's all a puppet theater to amuse and distract from the real agenda that will be made manifest no matter which party is in control.
Don't believe me? What's the difference in immigration policy between the Republicans and Democrats? They both say it's a non issue. I have little faith that our aggression would be quelled by any politician in office unless the change benefits corporate interest.

Do you honestly believe that a person can't become a 4 star general and still be dishonest? If fact, it's more likely that a general will be dishonest under the current regime, as all promotions to general require presidential nomination and Senate confirmation, and we have the most dishonest president in recent history, who has proven that he has no integrity and will surround himself with those loyal to him, rather than promote based on merit. The Senate is not much better, being filled with corrupt fat-cats who care not one bit for the average American Citizen. Anyone who believes that the Democrats and Republicans have the best interest of the American People at heart have obviously been forced to recite the brainwashing "Pledge of Allegiance" too many times as children. No wonder the country is in such a sad state.

Belief is good. I believe the Cubs will win the World Series. Some people 'believe' Jesus is currently booking his flight for his return to earth. People believe a lot of things....belief is just part of the nature of beng human as irrelevant that may be to the subject at hand. Also, the general's comments and opinions may very well be his own. But the comments of the Pope and his employees are also their own...and oddly, they mirror each other. None of that has any bearing on objective reality. If you're going to use the Bush Junta as your standard of objective 'truth' then you'll have to overlook all the nonsense that this posse of banditos has spewed out from day one. Sure, they may 'believe' whatever the hell they believe, but believing you're not wrong isn't the same as being right. What the Bush administration says has no particular 'internal truth'....if it did there would be no disagreement. Who in their right mind would argue that 3.14 isn't the value of Pi? Who in their right mind would argue that the sea ice at the north pole isn't getting thinner and less extensive? Nobody. Reality indicates that no matter how many folks we kill or capture in Iraq and no matter how many of our people are killed and maimed and no matter how much essential infastructure is destroyed or how many borrowed dollars we spend, the situation in Iraq has reach an equilibrium that may rise and fall slightly, but will never achieve any kind of 'normal'. I believe that the general 'believes', but belief doesn't change the reality...the 'surge' may be working, but the occupation isn't!

How are you measuring winning? When President Bush declared Israel the winner over Lebanon I was ashamed puzzled. You want to win? Does that mean all the infrastructure in Iraq is destroyed?
As for deaths, when you adjust for the 120 degrees in the shade even suicide bombers cut back this time of year. There is a drop every year during this time period.
If however you compare these months last year with these month this year it looks pretty bad still. I think the Iraqi deaths are up 60%. But if you have defined winning as dead Iraqis then you may be right. Your definition for winning may be my definition for evil or stupid. Can we disagree on this?

How, exactly, is the surge working? Lets compare some numbers (numbers don't lie):
US military deaths:
July '06: 42
July '07: 75
Average number of civilian deaths (per day) from car bombs:
2006: 8.5
2007: 14
So, more Americans and Iraqi civilians dying is evidence that the surge is working? I don't follow your logic...
More American soldiers on the ground=more targets for the insurgents
Fewer (or ideally no) American soldiers on the ground=fewer (or ideally no) targets for the insurgents (other than each other)
Simple logic that few on the right seem to be able to grasp.

Well there's that pesky little GAO report that refutes the general commanding officer of Cent Comm called him a kiss a@@ and then the fact that he's already been caught lying kinda blows his crediblility doesn't it
He tells the foriegn press this
“It has not worked out as we had hoped,” the general said
“Many of us had hoped this summer would be a time of tangible political progress at the national level,” Petraeus wrote. “All participants, Iraqi and coalition alike, are dissatisfied by the halting progress on major legislative initiatives,” he wrote.
but tells the American press this
“Based on the progress our forces are achieving, I expect to be able to recommend that some of our forces will be redeployed without replacement,” he told the Boston Globe by email on Friday…. “Few of these political solutions would have been possible without the improved security provided by coalition and Iraqi forces.”
and here's a link to the artcle where he states the surge DIDN'T WORK

Because the general is a liar and the defense department has obviously distorted the facts and isn't reporting the truth. Doing crap like only counting people who got shot on side of the head instead of the other IS LYING! Basically he is a turd in a tuxedo.

How is the surge working??? There is still sectarian violence. Iraq's government is still a flop. Everything is the same, only there are more troops over there. Unneeded troops, mind you.
But Petrayus coming before Congress giving that "we'll pull 30,000 by next summer" speech was some bull ****. All it is is an excuse to keep us over there longer.
And to top it all off, they're keeping the same plan...
