I've just seen it a lot around here and I am unfamiliar with it. I'm currently TTC and am interested if these things have anything to do with helping in conception. Thanks.

Clomiphene citrate (CC, Clomid, Serophene) is often the first fertility drug that couples come in contact with. It is (relatively) inexpensive as fertility drugs go, it is easily taken (orally rather than by injection) and it is the first line drug used for ovulation induction in patients with PCOS and other ovulatory disorders. It has been used for patients with luteal phase defect. It can also be used to assess ovarian reserve or, in other words, the likelihood that a woman's ovaries can still produce viable eggs.

PCOS is Polycystic ovarian syndrome. People with pcos have difficulty in conceiving because of irregular periods.
Pcos have high insulin resistence. So to induce ovulation Chlomid is given as a fertility aid.

hey I have pcos, and pcos is a diease that can not be cure but treated, they dont no how you get it but most people say u can inherit it, most people with pcos doesnt no they have it until ttc, most would no by unwanted facial hair, irreguler periods, obestiy, skin tags, fat around the waist, etc..., clomid is a pill that your dr perscribe to you so that it can induce ovulation, it plays a trick with the brain making it thinks that the hormones are low so that it can produce more follicle so that u can ovulate and realese a mature egg/eggs
