I am in rented accomodation so cannot decorate. I have fallen in love with a wallpaper and wondered if anyone knows if it is possible to make a wall canvas with my desired wallpaper. I want to keep costs low, i have found a company online that make customised canvas' but they are quite expensive!

I am allowed to put pictures on the wall but im not allowed to put wallpaper up or change the paint colours. This is my solution to not being allowed to hang wallpaper is to have canvas' up and pictures.

I once had a client in a similar situation. It took some time and patience, but we wallpapered numerous panels that were almost the same height as the room and put picture hooks on the backs of each of the wallpapered panels and hung them like over-sized art with a minimal spacing between them. Eventually two walls were done and it was really neat. I must tell you though, the project did end up having a considerable cost at the end, because not only was there the cost of the wallpaper itself and the wallpaper paste, but the panels too, the picture hooks, etc. The cost was a bit more than twice what it would have cost to apply the wallpaper to the walls. Good luck!

Are you speaking of creating a MURAL from some image on the chosen wall paper? How large a piece are you talking about?

Can you reproduce the image yourself?

Is your intent to HANG this "Wall Canvas" If so is that allowed? Since you state you're not allowed to decorate?

Have you access to a home improvement store, or window/glass vendor?

Depending on the size you can purchase Matte finish/ clear plexi/ in window pane thickness; mount the Image on FoamCore; etc; frame it is you wish; and show it as you're allowed.
