You get more details if you use CPUZ
http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php
Just select memory or SPD tab.

my computer may not be on your desktop, the guaranteed link is:

click start
click settings
click control panel
double click on the "system" icon

it may take a few seconds to populate but in the lower hand of screen the info you desire will be found.

Another thing to note is that some computers used shared memory from the system for the video card, most of the time it is 64 meg or 128. therefore you may need to add that to get your real total of physical memory..

If all you really want to know is how much ram is available to computer for running programs then follow this:

hit (all at the same time)
ALT-CTL-DEL

click task manager
click on the performance tab

that will show you how much RAM is available for running programs if it is less then 256,000 under "available" under physical memory then you'll want to get more ram

to get more ram go to
http://www.crucial.com

simply put in your computers make and model and they will tell you what ram you can purchase to put into your computer. They also have tech support if you do not know how to do it.

Example (( on my computer))

Processor : Intel (R) Core (TM)2 CPU 67 ...
Memory : 8192 MB
page file : .....

hope you find out how much ream is on your computer.

Thank you
