I've had lots and lots of scary experiences! Probably the worst was being abducted, tied up, repeatedly raped, had cigarettes put out all over my body, cut with a knife, beat to within an inch of my life, and left for dead in a corn-field. I had just turned 16 the week before. No, I'm not making this up.
I probably should have had counseling or something, but my parents were so beside themselves, I had to "prove" I was okay and convince them we just needed to get on with life. So I tried to bury it. I finally convinced myself I'm "over it" and life goes on. What else can you do?
They caught the guy and he was sentenced to 260 years. I heard a rumor they were going to parole him once, and I got really scared for a while. Fortunately, I found out that he died after 11 years in prison. That kind of sucks, I wanted to him to keep paying for it. He got off too easy, in my opinion! I wish I could find out what he died of, it wasn't old age. There's no way to find out that I can find, though. I think it would help give me some real closure, but it's always the criminals who get their "rights" and privacy protected, not law-abiding citizens. That just isn't right.
Anyway, of all the frightening experiences in my life, that one has to take the cake. It did teach me how tough I truly am, though! I got my ducks in a huddle, and walked out of that corn-field and found help. I am a little proud of that.

One night I discovered a burglary in progress on my beat. I was the first one to go thru the door which had been kicked in by the burglars. I knew they were probably still inside because they had only partially ransacked the interior.
It's just a weird feeling going into a business at 3:00 in the morning with people who are desperate enough for whatever reason to break into a Pizza Hut. Kind of creepy opening doors and hoping someone isn't waiting to blast you behind the door!

Yes, I witnessed my grandson (13 yrs old now), who was 6 at the time, having a Grand Mal seizure for the first time. I had no idea what it was and I was the only person in the house with him. I was a single grandmother. I thought he was dying right in front of me. He was jerking all over the place, his eyes rolled around, his tongue was sort of out. He wouldn't or couldn't respond to me. I called 911 for an ambulance 2 times before they ever arrived. I held him in my arms and rocked and talked to him. It was much scarier than any mad-man or monster you could imagine--thinking you are losing a precious loved child right before your eyes and there was nothing you could do about it. Thankfully, he outgrew the seizures after about 5 years and they ended up all being Grand Mal ones but thankfully also were nocturnal ones. I am so glad they stopped on their own as he lost a female, 21 yr. old cousin to a Grand Mal seizure that occurred in the middle of the night when she lived by herself and her heart rhythm got out of sync.

My boyfriend at the time got lost in downtown Louisville, and we were working our way back toward the interstate through all these one ways streets. Well, this guy walked up to our car while we were stopped at a red light and began to solicit us for money. My boyfriend, just went ahead a gave him like two bucks because we didn't know how crazy he was, he looked as if he had been hopped up on crack.

Roll over car wreck in the middle of winter. I was trapped in my car for 30 minutes..there was no way to get out. I had my seat belt on, the drivers side was on its side. I drove an Xterra at the time and the back was all crushed in and I couldn't get any footing to jump out the window.....it was horrible. I don't ever want to go through that again, or wish it on anyone!

Yes, when I was arrested. That was very scary. On a lighter note, sometimes I always get chills when I go to one of my friends house. They say it's haunted by some old woman. Every time I go there I feel like something is watching me, and I can't stand that. Very weird.

I answered a question simalar to this yesterday. When I was a kid I was waiting up the street with my friend for her dad to pick her up. When I started walking home someone started following me in a car. When I got to the path that cut through a neighbors yard to my house I ran. I was so scared I couldn't scream. My house was in a pretty wooded area. My dad was working nights then and of course i was hysterical when I got in the door. My mom and sister grabbed something to hit this person with....and went out the door to find him. He was still there. He told my mom he was looking for his daughter who ran away and he thought I was her. My mom believed him because she said he was calling a name when they were running up to where he was. Whether he was really looking for his daughter or not he scared the crap out of me!

Yes a few months ago some guys overtook us at speed in their car, stopped dead in front of us, got out of their car and started walking towards us with menacing smirks on their face, I was petrified, thankfully they about turned, got back in their car and drove off, no idea why they did it but wouldn't want to experience it ever again.

Yes, I watched my mom while her body was dying, waiting on the slow asss doctor's who acted like it was nothing to take her to "Emergency" Surgery. Over 24 hours of the scariest thing I have ever experienced in my life all caused from neglect on the physicians part.
