I went to court and i keep one of the spare handcuff keyes on my keychain and they took the keys away, I understand why I cant have them in there, but then they would not give it back. They told me it was illegal to own a pair of police handcuffs. But if you go to Smith and Wesson.com, where I got mine, you can purchase them no questions asked!

Ok everyone needs to get their minds out of the gutter! I've had the KEY not the cuffs for almost 7 years, I found it and kept it because I found it interesting. I did not even KNOW it was a handcuff key till they told me. So if you do not have anything of merit to contribute just shut the hell up!

... and I understand why I could not have it the courthouse "Scott"... my question is why I could not have them back!! So next time read the question completely ( maybe a few times if it was too complicated for you) before you decide to try and answer it.

I think you were scammed...
Absent any law prohibiting ownership, they 'stole' your
legally purchased property. I don't know why you wanted a key [ nor care ], but the key is yours.

Tell them the key unlocks your mink-lined cuffs at home, and your wife is waiting. :-)

''everyone keep out of the gutter?" A little roleplay is ''gutter?"
Variety, maybe.
besides, if it got your key back to you, why whine ? Heck, you shoulda tried it.

Gee, I wonder why the court police wouldn't want handcuff keys wandering around there. Perhaps they don't want someone letting someone free who shouldn't be?

nah....

Basically, not illegal to have, but a stupid place to have one.

I own pair of real handcuffs. And you are allowed to have them but u can not carry them in ur purse or in your car. My best friend is a cop and told me this when I bought mine. It Is considered a concealed weapon. Which I think is dumb... But it is what it is

for what do you need these handcuffs?

and further more, the only need for handcuffs i can think of wouldn't require you to carry the keys on your key chain!!
