Perhaps a closer look is required as to what actually happened, she only got as far as holding a few meetings before the hostilities started, the insurance companies went after her for not revealing who she was consulting with, a tactic followed by Cheney during the energy commision meetings and defended by him as needing unvarnished honesty which he wouldn't have gotten if he had to reveal the names. Sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander on that one. The second problem was that it cut out or back on the involvement of insurance companies which would have meant a reduction in their profits, which by the way have been up steadily past inflation rates for the past ten years.
The insurance companies then started a huge advertising campaign where it was stated that there would be no choice of doctor or hospital, that the government would be making medical decisions, that it would be scary. And expensive.
Ten years later, and the insurance companies make medical decisions, you can only go to their doctors or hospitals, and yes, its very scary. And expensive. So expensive that its beyond the reach of 47 million citizens, so expensive that businesses are dropping health care plans, so expensive that working people cannot afford the minimum of twelve thousand dollars to insure their family.
Now that is a simple statement of fact, one that you can see in action everyday. I am not interested in Bills sex life, purported murders or shady fundraisers. I'm not interested in family values hypocrites or Bushs failings, no name calling of Liberals, or conservative.
So tell me? Did Hillary bungle it, or did we allow big business to scare us out of it?
Where are we now? Are we better off or worse than we were ten years ago in the fight to get adequate health care for all?

The Democratic Controlled congress at the time,

Tabled the bill and the other two competing bills in committee,

And refused to allow any of the three bills out of committee to be voted on.

By the time, the three fractions in the democratic party decided on which bill they would push.

All momentum had been lost already, and the bills were never introduced.

And whats really funny, was both the Chamber of Commerce and the Better Business Bureau were in favor of the bills.

It fizzeled out, but, it IS interesting to note that the Clinton's identified an issue 13 years ago that has been spirling out of control ever sense: a common sense plan for health care for all americans.

The Republican machine is funded primarily by the pharmaceutical industry's Billions to keep any decent and affordable medicine off the shelves. You might want to slither off your high horse and open a book and read up on it.

The health insurance industry spent millions on television ads to oppose it—the “Harry and Louise” ads. They were successful.

It had nothing to do with her 'bungling' it. The health care industry wanted nothing to do with and they made sure it never happened.

It got shouted down by everyone in the health care industry. I don't want Mrs. Clinton, because she is a socialist, and socialism is not good for Americans.

The medical plan got knocked down by the drug companies and insurance companies. It is obvious the rich don't want change. The doctors, drug companies are too greedy. There are too many drug companys and insurance companies that have lobbyist.
