Hon, I've heard this is a common side effect of certain anti-depressants. If you are on those types of meds, then maybe you should see the doctor, see if he can switch you to something different.
Don't give in! Liquor doesn't mix well with any medications you may be on, and a tobacco habit is very expensive, and very unhealthy. Chewing tobacco is a disgusting habit! Think of how your teeth will look, and all that spitting, ack! Not to mention the potential for cancers of the mouth and throat!
If it gets really bad, get out and take a walk, even if it's just a short one. It will distract you, and the sunlight and exercise will release endorphins and serotonin, which will make you feel better. Good luck!

I can't say for sure why you are having these urges. But I can say that it's worth considering the possibility that you might want to do so for social reasons.
When I had such urges, it mainly had to do with peer pressure and a desire to socialize more easily. If I smoked, drank hard liquor, etc, this gave me something in common with a large group of interesting, uninhibited, and fun-loving people in my age range who also used such substances.

It sounds like you have an addictive personality. Have you ever been hooked on tobacco or alchohol?
If not, I'd avoid both like the plague. The only true regret in my life is taking up smoking 26 years ago. Now, try to quit is similar to trying to quit breathing or eating.
Nicotine and alchohol can be very relaxing and allow users to 'escape' temporarily from problems. Maybe you should focus on whatever brought these feelings on and deal with whatever it is without a crutch.
Good luck to ya.

try keeping a diary of how u feel when u get these urges like what ur mood and emotions are at that time and what time of day it is. then study them and see if there are ne patterns n if the emotions urging u to do those things r negative emotions come up with a plan to combat them. it should help break ne addiction if u really want to. i used to smoke cigerettes but i quit. and u have to really want to quit in order to do it. what motivated me to stop was whenever i got an urge i would say i have already quit and its be _____ long since my last and if i light one up i will have to all that time to do over again its not worth it!! even if its only been one minute. thats still one minute u wont have to start over! overcoming an addiction can really show how much inner stregth u really have

Having an urge to do something bad?...How you respond is what true freedom is all about.......don't give it a second thought, what you concentrate can be powerful, just let it go!!!....I don't smoke either, haven't in almost 20 years, but every so often i do get an urge, i just ignore and more on.

Before you give into your urges, I think you should get a full physical by your family doctor. It could be some kind of chemical, hormonal, or testosterone imbalance. Your body could be missing or low on certain vitamins and minerals. Last but not least, it could be stress or psychologically related.

Maybe you are friends with a group of guys who unfortunately indulge in these vices and you kinda feel like the 'odd man out' when you are with them! Maybe you feel they are having all the fun and you want to grab your share of the fun! Whatever, your reasons my friend, I urge you not to give in! It's not worth it! I am sending you this Star, so that whenever you feel weak you should remember..."A stranger sent you this star to give you strength to remain as you are!!!"

Perhaps it is a rebellion against the life decisions you have made to date. The best way to find out, if you seriously want to know, is get go to a counselor.
