over because it contains private details of his patients which he is not allowed to disclose, then they can accuse him of definately having something to do with his daughter being missing and the evidence is probably on his laptop.? Sound daft, not any worse that the rubbish that has already been on here.

To All: I haven't read anywhere that it is his PERSONAL laptop, just his laptop, which by the way many doctors have.

You have a point there.
Just read a report by a Portuguese reporter who say the PJ have not requested Gerry's laptop.
just don't know what to believe.

LOL Private info about his patients! The police arnt interested in any of that. No ones confidential medical secrets are at risk here.
Anyway a Doctor cant refuse the Police, they are entitled to access of his notes/office/laptop.
Seriously do you think Mr Brown from Rothley is intested that the PJ know he had a triple bypass in 2003? Or do you think the patients want the mystery solved?

if he has nothing to hide on he's laptop he'll give it willingly, if not the police will be able to take it anyway.
also i don't think it's wrong for the prouguese police to suspect the parents because people these days would do just about anything for a little publicity, even if no one admits they are doing or pin it on them. your question isn't daft with all these new evidence and a staggering disappearance will make people wonder what's really going on here.

Why would he have details of patients on his laptop? That information would be held on his hospital computers and I as a patient would be very worried about a doctor holding details about me on their laptop which could be accessed by any of his family members...
In any event Gerry McCann would need no excuse to refuse to hand it over. Remember he is 780% innocent not merely 100%!!!

Handing patient records to the police is fine, since the police will also keep those files and information confidential.

He can not refuse and they can not access patient records.
Those are confidential and protected by the Data Protection Act. A judge in THIS country would have to grant permission for that.
What relevance has it to Madeleine? One can only speculate.
Edit. Little Weed. "just don't know what to believe".... I find that difficult to take from you. All of your posts about Gerry & Kate have been based on speculation and suppostion. Hypocrite.
