hellloooo Mr Applebeer.
This was my year to not be excited about my bday.36.
just another year older and deeper in debt, and all that.
But i find i am happier now that its gone by, because this starts a new "ten year chapter in my life"

like i just told my own children yesterday (17 and 18) NOTHING magically changes on your bday. but it is your day to celebrate your life AND i might add i think all of the mothers deserve a present when thier child has a bday, not the other way around!!

Ah ... actually ... when you turn 30 ... I wasn't very excited at the time because I was about to have my 1st Child ... and he was due near my own birthday anyway. This was a short disaster of a marriage (I ended up with two children with disabilities as a Long Term Single Parent).

AFTER that point in time ... no one remembered my birthday anyway ... and with children, they definitely like to have their birthdays remembered. So another year passed (and quite a lot more) and now ....

This Empty-Nesting Single Retiree has gone over the half century mark (not telling any more) and it is just another day in the year that goes by.

I thought more about turning 30 than I did 40. I guess I saw 30 as a definite end to my youth. Forty was great and I haven't thought about 50 yet. I guess I'll just be thankful on that day.

I don't think I've been excited about my birthday since I was in junior high... nobody celebrates... (not even me).

At this point - I don't even know HOW to celebrate that day aside from just living like any other day of the year.

I liked 18, 21 even 25. The hardest for me, so far, was 30. I feel old!

you try to make each birthday exciting and make each year better than the year before. life is about learning and improving. try volunteering at a childrens hospital or something. It will help you see how each year of your life is precious and special. As for me, it was my 28th birthday. It just made me feel old, that is until my 29th.

I'm 22 now, and 18 was exciting, I was pregnant. 21 was okay, I'm not into drinking. so now I just enjoy being young right now. I don't party, not into it, mainly because I saw my mom destroy my childhood that way.
