pentium is fast and so is core 2 duo but which is better and in want ways

Duo core has the advantage of allowing you to run two applications simultaneously. So, for example, you can be downloading from the web at the same time you're burning a CD with little interference between the two because you've got two processors sharing the work. Even if the Pentium is faster than either of the duo core processors, Duo core is the better choice unless you're running some kind of a math number crunching program that maxes out the processor. In addition, new programs will be coming along that will use the two cores in a single application. So games will be running even faster!

In my opinion, Intel Core 2 Duo is better than Intel Pentium D.

Core 2 duo will wipe the floor with a pentium D. With the new E6850 chip, each core runs at 3Ghz, with 4Mb of Cache.

Core 2 duo can run any x86 Os, Vista/XP/2000/ME/98 lots of different versions of Linux/Unix. (Both 32/64 bit)

Core 2 duo is better because it has 2 processors on a single microchip and splits the tasks being asked of it between them, therefore making it faster and more efficient.

Core 2 duo is faster, its not the fastest but it is faster. The fastest is the quad-core chip with 4 chips

Yes because, Core 2 duo has vista only installed in it and when it comes to vista, it isn't user-friendly at all.

I HAVE A BIG D,but i have windows media centre 2005,as a program so you have to have a more powerful pc with this program.
