What could be the causes of late periods if your not pregnant?

its been 42 days since my last period, i dont think im pregnant but it could be a possibility i suppose, what are other possible causes of late periods?

There are a number of reasons that your period is late. Do you know for certain that you're not pregnant? The main reason that your periods become late is pregnancy. If you know for sure you aren't pregnant, there are a few other reasons, like stress, weight gain, a change in diet, cysts, etc. that can cause a late/delayed period. Some women just tend to skip a period every once in a while. If you don't get your period soon, you should see your Dr. If you have something like a cyst on your ovary, chances are, it can be treated easily with birth control pills or other types of meds.

Have you been under a lot of stress lately, lost weight or been ill, this can all affect your cycle. I would get your hormone levels checked-out, you could also be in peri-menopause.
