Depending on your high school, it's probably either formal or semi-formal. You may want to double check, but this is one time of year that many schools require at least semi-formal dress for the students attending homecoming activities. My own daughter has worn "Sunday" dresses to homecoming for the last 2 years. Check with your school to see if you need a "formal" gown.

At my school it was the one dance where you could wear a short little dress and show off your legs. I guess it depends on if your school has a theme though. My cousin's was jungle theme and she went as a tiger. I guess the most I ever got into my theme was getting a really glitzy dress for our Mardi Gras theme. I would ask some upper classmen, I don't think that they will steer you wrong. Also shop with your friends, so if you guys totally bomb what you are wearing you are not alone, and then you just stand out in a crowd! I hope you have fun! Some of my best memories were at school dances! Just make sure not to be a wall flower no matter what and go out there and shake it!

depends on the town . small towns usually have the girls wear two piece suits , others have dresses ,then you have the cities that say gowns . My daughter wore a beautiful 2 piece suit , red jacket with black Spanish embroidery , and a black suede skirt , red and black shoes and a hat to match . she was stunning , but didn't win , came in second . teachers daughter won ! (imagine that ) I thought she was a winner and so did the school , when she walked out on the field everyone , even the football players gave her a standing ovation . and when the queen was announced the captain of the football team was suppose to walk her down , walked my daughter down the field instead . Her dreams were met !

It depends on your school, mine was way formal, but that was in the Midwest where highschool football is real big. I'd go with a short flirty dress. Then if its casual you fit in, if its formal you fit in. You can't loose.

most schools have a homecoming theme, and you get dressed up with the theme, if your school doesn't just wear what your friends are wearing.
