Hi
The most cost effective route from Birmingham to London is on National Express. They are running single fare at between £5 & £6 at the moment and on certain days if you are flexible you can travel for £1. Yes as low as that. Virgin trains are also doing deals. National Express do very cheap deals from as little as £1, I think also Virgin trains have good deals too but think you need to book a few weeks in advance, neverthelss its worth checking out their website.

Megabus.com! They are very cheap, if you're lucky you can snatch some £1 tickets, if not usually around £4, £8 up to about £12 I think.
