I drive an Infiniti G35 coupe. My car makes a wheezing sound, like something is spinning but rubbing against something, but only around 1800-2000 rpm, but it happens in all my gears.

Haha, BMW at the time didn't make any comparible to the G....yes they had the 330ci, but it doesn't perform as well at the G. Of course now there's the 335i which I wouldn't mind getting.

As for buying an American car....it's great for accelerating in a straight line, but you know those things that you run into once in a while? They're called curves, and taking one at a high speed in MOST American cars isn't a good idea.

I will use a long rubber hose. Can be bought on local auto part shops really cheap and use it as a stethoscope. Be careful not to burn yourself and hose. That way you can pin point where the noise is coming from. By the way, why bother with an Infiniti (aka Rich Man Datsun) when you can buy a BMW for the same price? Anyway sounds to me more like an alternator problem.

Raise the hood and have someone press the throttle down to 1800 - 2000 RPM. Take a long screw driver with the plastic end at your ear alternately touch the alternator, power steering pump, water pump with the blade end of the screwdriver to isolate the noise.Any of the rotating assembly's will emit a the noise you speak of. Turn the car off and inspect the serpentine belt on the driven side for splits and cracks.
If you still are unable to isolste the noise remove the belt, start the motor for a minute or two and listen for the noise. If there is none suspect the ideler take-up pulley itself.

Could be something related to the transmission or belts. BTW, I have a Ford Tempo GL sedan with a 3.0L V6 and I've taken a 90 degree turn at about 40 miles an hour. It was really easy. This car is 15 years old too.

in case you may bounce it with a screw motive force, then the starter is high-quality. The loose twine to the starter might desire to be tightened. If it won't initiate with the foremost, yet purely clicks, then there is further resistence in the foremost or neutal protection swap, it fairly is scuffling with commencing. there isn't any further relay because of the fact the solenoid is a relay. yet you may upload one. it somewhat is frequently performed to autos like VW trucks that have lengthy wires from the ignition to the starter way in back. basically you place the relay close to the starter, and you have the foremost turn on the relay, which then can turn on the starter extra easily on the grounds it fairly is nearer, has shorter and heavier twine, and could no longer might desire to pass by way of all those switches. yet additionally make constructive the engine floor is physically powerful, because of the fact the engine is fastened in rubber. yet you in addition to mght suggested that oftentimes the starter purely spins unfastened, without enticing the flywheel, so the solenoid might no longer be optimum from now on. The solenoid is extra low priced than an entire starter.
