Just look at the sources of Flying horse. They are vastly higher than any official sources. Who is lying now, the state or the feminists, Iam confused.

That statistic was taken from a study done of college women by Ms Magazine... the questions asked were "have you ever had sex when you didn't really want to?"

If the respondent answered yes to that, it would have been counted as a rape occurring. Later analysis found that almost all of the women who answered yes to this, but not to questions indicating something more severe, had not filed any reports to police and were in fact still dating their supposed "rapists".

Which ironically indicates that according to the feminist definition of rape... women like to be raped.

EDIT: Yes I am calling them liars. I'm doing that because they are liars.. lol. To be honest I'm not completely clear on why feminists lie about rape. Could be just to vilify men, could be because they want to cast themselves as victims, could be because they want women who aren't completely satisfied with a man they had sex with be able to have him thrown in jail not completely sure.

It's easy to call feminists liars because they do it so often that nobody knows what to believe when they say it. Their statistic could very well be true, but it'll be doubted simply because they can't be trusted to tell the truth under any circumstances.

One thing a lot of you ladies on this question need to realize is that men are not all eager to rape and what the men who're boo-hooing your statistics consider rape is far different from what feminists consider rape. When you have feminists saying that all sex is rape because the patriarchy deludes women into thinking they like it you've got a bit of a different definition. The sort of thing that non-rapist men consider rape, and what the vast majority would never do in a million years, would be forcible rape or drugged rape. The other forms of rape as constantly redefined by various women's groups range from farcical to thought-provoking. Being brow-beaten into sex, or cajoled, or tricked etc, would seem fair play if women are really adults like men. The simultaneous claims of feminism that women are both strong adults and helpless children makes for some serious confusion among both men and women.

Men who drug or beat women in order to rape them disgust me more than any beings alive. I would kill them all if I could, even if I had to personally chop off all their heads. Just give me room to swing and a barrel full of barf-bags.

Those who rape or molest children are right at the same level. An axe might be too good for em but I'd do it if that were the only way.

The reason you'll run into a lot of men who are skeptical of the statistics is because constantly telling men they're evil no matter what they do, they're all aching to be rapists if they only dared, etc, which are false statements, makes the other claims seem all the more fallacious. Are you surprised that those feminists have spent so many years demonizing as a group get a little defensive about what might be yet another false accusation?

The statistics about wife-abuse were demonstrated to be a fabrication a few years ago, selectively culled from a larger study to falsely accuse men in general, so why take these statistics at face value?

It's feminists and women who're defending these accusations mindlessly that aren't taking rape seriously. By watering down the real thing to include buyer's remorse and 'I was too drunk to know what I was doing,' you're letting the real villains hide amongst their betters.

It's not surprising that you're confused. If you would be willing to listen to what real women have to say on the subject, you might learn something. There are false allegations of rape. However, there are far more real cases that are reported, and far more still that go unreported. Same goes for sexual molestation cases. Unreported sexual molestation cases are more common than unreported rape cases. However, there's no way to know what the true statistics are on the total number. It's pretty damn difficult to get accurate, thorough statistics on something that no one wants to talk about! I can tell you that what gets successfully prosecuted is definitely NOT the only aspect of the total picture. It's a small piece of the pie. Your opinion does not take into account the unreported cases OR cases that have not been successfully prosecuted (but that are, in fact, real cases that lack sufficient legally- admissible evidence.) Being a woman, and having close female friends and relatives my whole life, I can also confidently say that most women would never dream of making a false rape allegation, not publicly, not privately. Just because there are some that do, does not mean they are the majority. A few bad apples and you think the whole barrel is spoiled. No psychologically normal female would ever WANT to endure the kind of personally humiliating attention that they must go through when reporting a rape: the medical examination, the collection of your underclothing for evidence, the prying into every single detail of the encounter.... etc. It's not something that women would take lightly. Also not taken lightly is the fear that if the perpetrator manages to beat the system and walk, he may come after her again, and next time it might be worse.

You have no idea the frequency that rape and sexual molestation occurs. Most women don't report these crimes. They are too afraid, or don't want to be humiliated further by the legal system. They don't want to open up their personal lives for strangers to review. They don't wish to be blamed by those who really don't grasp what it means to be raped. Many have lost their ability to trust others. Most just want to get past it, and live their lives without this kind of negative attention. You could never get a totally thorough picture of this problem unless you were able to interview every single woman, and know that she would be willing to talk about her experiences. I say, "good luck" with THAT. If a woman decides to "open up" about her experiences, generally she does this only with other women, or someone she can really trust. This may be one of the reasons that some men are so "in the dark" when it comes to this subject.

Those who claim that 1 in 4 or even 1 in 3 women are raped used a definition of rape that was deliberately "defined up" in order to yield a number that seemed high enough to "shock the conscience." Feminism does not do itself any favors by using padded statistics.

I don't know if this statistic is true, but I do know that 1 in 4 female college students are victims of rape.

EDIT: HappySnappy, what you are talking about hardly qualifies as "rape." The question asked by the magazine seems to be more "I'm not really in the mood tonight, but I'll say yes just to please my boyfriend/husband/partner who I am currently sexually active with," as opposed to a man violently forcing himself onto a woman when she has made it clear that she does not want have sex with him. If a woman doesn't want sex but says yes anyway, then it cannot be called rape because she has given her consent.

LMAO. Are you guys off your rockers? I hope Snappy Bappy stays cloistered safely at his OnStar phone-answering job the rest of his life so normal educated people might be spared his sick, inhumane nonsense that warrants being thrown in a mental institution.

I think the actual rape statistic, as the first respondent suggested, is closer to 1 in 7. That's still more than 10 percent. I also think the 1 in 4 statistic refers to some kind of sexual assault, not necessarily including rape.

I have no idea how you guys feel so removed from the idea of rape that you can't even imagine how NOT FUN it would be to be raped. Did you know men get raped, too? By other men? Imagine for a second, if you're capable of human empathy, being raped, whether by penis or object. Pretty neat, huh. Did you know a Latino teenager was raped in the a.ss with a patio-umbrella pole by a bunch of white racist s.hit heads in Texas? Then he committed suicide. Silly, harmless rape. I bet he was just lying about it: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19569704/?GT1=10056 .

You should do some research on rape percentages in Africa and other non-Anglo countries. Luckily, nobody gives a S.HIT in many of these places whether women are raped or not! They have NO POLICE to listen to them! HAHAHAHA. Boy, I wish it was like that in the U.S. F'n women lying about rape all the time except that it's actually one of the most disgustingly rampant violent crimes.

it truly is truly based on each and each particular county penal complex. maximum have not got any intense concern with this. some do...those are those you notice on the information. Rape of woman inmates is surprisingly much continually male workforce on woman inmate...in contrast to adult adult males's insitutions, woman inmate-on-woman inmate rape is uncommon, the two in jails and in prisons. greater person-friendly are illicit consensual male workforce-woman inmate relationships in prisons. those are banned, through fact (between different issues) it each and every so often may be difficult to tell the place consent ends and rape starts off. In county jails, the time-honored sexual grievance of girls human beings is the occasional male shield who abuses his monitoring powers to secret agent on women human beings whilst undressed. uncommon, yet no longer remarkable. those human beings are nicely everyday to the inmates, and (understandably) despised. In prisons, illicit consensual sexual relationships between woman inmates are truly person-friendly ("i'm purely 'gay for the stay'")...much less so in county jails as there is far less time to bond.

I'm not sure if it's true but I think it might be true. I was told sexually assaulted though. Also there is some debate between whether the number is in fact higher. People don't know for sure since many women don't come forward about being raped, they feel ashamed and dirty and blame themselves, even if it wasn't their fault. It's kinda scary though, a friend of mine was raped.

There is a sad lack of information, it gives me the shivers to think that young men think this way. Unfortunately it is not myth, but truth.
Yes, there have been cases of some women lying, but this doesn't refer to what really is going on.
I have no time now to look for sources (but I have two good ones, see end). I want to say, that each other friend I know, they know someone or themselves that have been raped, real rape, that is a high number.

There are other sources where you can look, like jail rape, incest, husband rape, war rape. It is amazing that many concentrate in the few women that lied, that is extremely comfortable for the ones that since Biblical times like to point fingers (although their mysoginist attitudes are so clear).

It is still common that most rape victims don't report it out of shame or because till to this day the victim is seen as "guilty", amazing.

Guys please take a look here, change the record for once, this is serious:

MYTH run by misandry. But of course by the looks of it the feminazi have indoctrinated a good % of women here

Flyinghorse
Yes the UN stats are exactly what Happy Snappy eluded to. The point about in US with their intimate partner. I see you have the mis-information (not us) and have been indoctrinated. It is also well known that the UN for women is full of feminazis and their special surveying and statistic techniques.

edit
It is a pretty lame argument that some women would think that we dont understand the gravity of rape or that we are in fairy land thinking it does not exist or isnt real. The question remains about this bogus statistic. If it were true then im all for it, if it is not, then im going to voice my opinion on the subject because all it does is scaremonger and lie. It is in my nature to tell the truth and to be told the truth.
