Yes the first answer did make some points. What will have to happen before anything else is a very hefty hike in taxes. You say you are poor so I will have to pay for your medical care. Yes that is how it will work. Those of us that will be paying taxes will have to pay a lot more to cover those that do not pay taxes or a very little amount.
If you truely are poor then free medical care is already avbailable to you. Yes it is there.

Take a good look at the nations that do have socialized medical care. They are begining to change over to the way it is done in the USA. There must be a reason for that. Those nations that do have a lot of money and can pay for the medical care are few and slowly are finding that it is not working very well. England, Germany and others are haveing a real problem funding the program. Many people have to wait years for surgery if it is not for a life threatening problem. Hip transplants because a person can't **** may take from one to three years to get done.

If you take a good look at what is happening you will notice that the top medical reasurchers of most nations go to the USA as soon as they can. The two that found the DNA code both went and still are in the USA. Nurses leave to get better pay and working conditions.

I do agree that medical care is very costly in the States and there needs to be something to help this. Hillery has been trying to get her idea of medical care for a long time and if you look at it she has never set out how it would be funded and by whom. She will loose a lot of votes if she tells the truth.

There are better ways.

For one thing, the way we train and employ doctors, nurses and other health care providers would have to be totally revamped. What you would basically be doing is making government employees out of all of them. They would be set on fixed incomes (why be a doctor?) and micromanaged with a hellishly complicated bureaucratic hierarchy controlled by Congressmen and Senators. Politicians, I might add, who would use this as a threat in every election. Just like they do with welfare, social security, education and every other social program they control.

"If you vote for my opponent, he will cut the health care budget."

Anyone who believes that socialized medicine is the answer is in for a huge disapointment.

None. The Clintons are not all that liberal. The plan includes contracting with existing Insurance companies in much the same way Medicaid is now done.
