Rodell, I don't believe that it is performance-enhancing drug. If you watch Figgins play, you will see that he is a contact hitter. He doesn't hit for power; instead, he hits for average. At the beginning of the year, he started out horrible (continue from last season). But then he changed his batting stance and shorten his swing. Now, he is hitting it everywhere and in the gap. Also, he is not swinging at the bad pitches anymore. He is more patience at the plate which shows in his strikeout rate and on base percentage.

Figgins has a lot of speed and can beat out infield hits. He has had nagging injuries the past couple of years and has been in and out of the line-up. It is difficult for any player to put up big numbers when you are not 100%. Figgins is a solid player and we will all see many more good years from him and the Angels and their fans will be the benefactor.

The guy simply had a bad year last year. For that matter, he started this season very slowly, but has been nearly unstoppable late in the year.

Last season was his worst, average wise, by far in his career. He bounced back this year and has been torrid for the last couple of months.

performance-enhancing drugs? Dont think players have just stopped using them. Look at the Gary Matthews Jr. fiasco.
