The worst thing I have ever seen was:
I was about 13 years old, my mother and I were driving to the bakery and we saw a motorcycle/car accident. The motor cycle driver's helmet came flyin off his body, and I say that because he actually had been decapitated, and when his helmet went rollin' so did his head. I still remember that to this day-25 years later. He had a black, red and white striped helmet, his motorcycle was red, and I can still remember the urgency to vomit when I saw it. I nearly passed out from the trauma. It was a horrid, morbid moment in my life!!! I will never forget it.

For me the answer would be images from the concentration camps during WWII. One very specific image sticks out in my mind and haunts me. There is a video clip of a Nazi soldier taking a mother and what looks to be a young girl (maybe 2 or 3 years old) out of a house by gunpoint. As he walks her out of the house he takes the little girl by the arm and yanks her out of the mothers clutches. He points to the mother to get in a line while at the same time shoving the small child in the opposite direction towards nothing but an open field. The child takes a few steps before turning around and coming back towards her mother, only to have the soldier once again push the child away. The confusion and sadness on the faces of the mother and child cannot be seen, which is probably a good thing...
As a father, or probably more importantly, as a human being with compassion, I would have to say that this particular image is something that I will have a hard time ever coming to understand.

All of the disturbing and horrible things I have seen are not as disturbing as horrible as I have imagined. There was this saying, it goes like; "the ghosts of what once was are not nearly as horrible as the ghosts of what could be" I forgot the exact quote, but that was by L.M. Montgomery, author of anne of greene gables. I can always imagine something more horrible as what has passed. Always.

My neighbours cat being attacked to death by neighbours terrier. I guess the thing that made it so bad was the fact that the cat and dog had lived together for 5 years and the attack was pretty bloody and graphic. Oh and the sounds tha poor cat made SPINE TINGLING..................
