I agree with the first answer that it doesn't really matter as it is against the rules...however, so is speeding when you drive, yet we all do it.

I suspect they all do it. The Pats are likely the first one to get press coverage when they got caught.

I doubt that they all use cameras. Binoculars are common, in fact Mike Shanahan bragged about that a few years back in an interview. Video Cameras are probably used by some teams but not a lot. I think the bottom line is that they did break the rules and they should be punished, with the punishment that the league has in place which includes fines and loss of up to 2 draft picks. If they want to review the rules they can, an example of this is Shawn Merriman who by league rules currently would not have been eligible for the pro bowl last season. They changed the rules and he was in the pro bowl last season.

It does NOT matter if they are the only team or not!!

It is an NFL Rule that was set up...There have been rumors for years that the Pats rose to Football Power by using Illegal Tactics, but no one has had the proof...People were looking for the Pats to get caught, and they were arrogant enough to break the rules....They got caught because they decided to cheat against a Former Assistant Coach of the Pats, who now coaches the Jets....That is SLIMY......The Jets coach had every right to turn the Pats into the Police and NFL Security...

Sorry but I don't buy this all of them do it. Also it ISN'T scouting. Scouting is using GAME TAPE. That isn't having your own people aiming a tape recorder at a COORDINATOR and finding the signals. Also don't compare it to baseball. There is nothing wrong with stealing signals the FAIR way and I'm sure everyone TRIES. The difference though is in WATCHING and being intelligent enough to decode them and TAPING them.

Next time you get a speeding ticket, tell the judge "Everybody does it!" and see how far that gets you. In most cases when someone uses the "everybody does it" defense not everybody does and even if they do, that doesn't make it any less against the rules. Only idiots and children use "But everybody's doing it!" as a defense.

I would bet they all do, it was just the Pats that got caught. The NFL is brutally competitive, lots of money on the line. Any edge they can get they will do it. I would bet they all do, or did.

You are right I'm sure other teams have done it but there is a major difference. Those others teams didn't get caught.

OK... number 1, as a colts fan, i was ecstatic about knowing the pats cheated... number 2, a friend of mine told me it happens all the time. now, i don't know if it does, but i do know that (pats suck) if this is going on, the penalty for cheating (belichick) should be an automatic loss for the cheating team (brady on his last 2 girlfriends) and given to the team that played honestly (jets, rotten scumbags for handing manning his 1st post-season loss). there has to be a set of morals, people! if you don't have morals (michael vick), you need to take a back seat to those who do (pacman jones, ray lewis, and half of the raiders) character is everything...

i doubt any. lol. nobody else has been caught doing it. patriots have been busted for the 3rd time now!!! packers coach and players have criticized the patriots for doing it, calling them cheaters as well. so, it's not just the jets that are saying it.
