Receptionist.
I like it most of the time because every problem is 2 minutes long. I listen to the problem and know which department can assist the customer and transfer to the call to them. People under estimate the work of a receptionist. We sort out so many issues. Calm customers. Solve little problems to let our co-workers get on with the bigger stuff. I am always being complimented on my phone manner but my co workers are always giving me 'work to do'.

Work for the state (office job), great pay and benefits, I just love it. I worked in a factory for 13 years and then took a few night classes at tech school and it payed off when I got this position.

RETIRED> I was a truck mechanic for 38 years, then a trailer driver for 9 years. The reasons I liked the jobs were ; good money, and something different every day.

At the moment I am a mother staying at home looking after my children, I prefer this to the job I did before I had them which was teaching. My own kids are far more rewarding than the brats I taught.
