are innocent of murdering their Madeleine?
1. 'cos theres no proof they did.
2. 'cos of the way they strive to spread awareness of their Madeleine with no regard to the flak & scrutiny hurled against them.
3. 'cos till now there is no little body found in spite of experts, sniffer dogs & the worldwide pressure on the PJ.
4. 'cos there is no motive.
5. 'cos there is no history or indication of past abuse, unstability or unhappiness in that family.
6. 'cos IF they were, even if it were accidental, one of them would have cracked by now.
7. 'cos something, anything would have come up as "significant evidence"... NOTHING HAS...!
All the accusations of murder are based on speculation & HEARSAY...

Well said faith, even the inventor of DNA fingerprinting has come out in support of the McCanns. He said today that it is wrong to claim anything from the DNA in the boot of the car used by the same family. He invented the process so I trust him rather than the dodgy dossier

Well, 2 millionaires who contributed to the original 'Find Maddy' fund have just now refused to give money to help with their legal costs. The contributors (who don't want to be named) said in the light of what they are reading/learning, it would 'inappropriate' to add to the fund. I guess they don't want to be seen helping financially if there's the tiniest chance the McCanns could be involved in all this. A sensible move I think.

Just picking up on Barbies point.
I´m not agreeing leaving your kids alone is a good idea, but the concept that it doesn´t happen isn´t strictly true. Many parents leave their kids alone at varying times. Here in Spain I see it all the time. Parents on holiday here go off to lunch and leave their kids on the beach, perhaps 50 metres or more away. Okay, they can see them but if you are a parent you will know how quickly they can disappear.
Here in Spain we take our kids out with us where ever we go, but in the UK you don´t do that. You never see kids in a pub at 10pm but you will see kids here in a bar at 10pm. Once people get on holiday they do things that they wouldn´t do at home, as I´ve said before, they leave their brains at Gatwick.

You're right - every now and again you read about something that just doesn't make sense . Nothing about this case feels right to me. Or should I say, I find it very hard to believe that they did it.
Perhaps I am wrong - but until I am proven so, I am happy to believe that the McCanns had nothing to do with the disappearance of their child. Innocent until proven guilty.

Its great to see somone else apart from Skidoo writing something intelligent. Personally, I don't know if the McCanns are guilty, but I suspect not. If the authorities are pushing for diaries and laptops they must be running out of ideas.

Faith you know what people will say to point 5?
Leaving your children alone is neglect by any official legal definition and patterns of neglectful behaviour constitute abuse (of sorts - though the word itself conjures up images) . . .

Social workers will be speaking to the McCanns if they have not done so already - it is unlikely that any 'extreme' action such as taking the twins away from them would be considered, however, any social worker meeting them would be deeply concerned by Kate's statement about how safe it felt to leave the children like that, this at the very least is an indication of the lack of understanding of what kind of things can happen to young children left alone and will need to be adressed.

As for your other points, you know my views . . .

We all have to wait for the end of the saga, even then debate will roll on.

You though Faith, are one of the rare breed of people who all ways look for the good in folk, your faith gives you that outlook.

Well innocent until proven guilty, but of course we won't know the evidence and the strength of the case against them until it goes to court.
