Minding your P's & Q's. Knowing when to be quiet. Knowing when to speak up. Caring about those that are troubled, or in need. Lending a helping hand. Not being a loud mouth. On the same note: Knowing when you can be a loud mouth. Not spreading rumors. To name a few.

There is a difference between doing good deeds and being good. A person who IS good does good deeds for the right reason. Anyone, even evil people, can do good deeds for reasons of reward (good feelings are rewards) or fear of punishment.

Most people do their good deeds because it makes them feel good and they feel good because they imagine the praise they should get for those good deeds. Their foundation for good deeds is good feelings, a poor foundation indeed.
